I haven’t even started writing yet. Can you help me?

Absolutely! This could actually be the best time to get help. As an author consultant, I can help you from the first word to the last. Plotting, planning, editing. I do it all and would love to help you learn. You have two options: enrollment in Nerdy Kat Author Education for a comprehensive program to learn about publishing from start to finish or a consulting package.

Do you take payments for services?

Yes, I am happy to work with you and your budget. However, you will not receive your final watermark-free product until the invoice for the file has been paid in full. I do request a portion of your overall cost before work will begin on your project.

How long does it take to get files back?

If you are doing select services, I do my best to complete your edit in four weeks. If I anticipate a longer turn around, I will discuss this with you. For print layout, cover art, and e-book conversion, allow a week turnaround per step, but, again, I’ll notify you if I expect delays. Please note that final products will not be delivered until the invoice for the file has been paid in full.

How do you price editing?

Editing has many elements including the type of editing and the depth of editing needed. If your sample is polished, your editing fees will be lower. If I need to do the polishing for you, the fees will be higher simply because this takes more time. I request a sample to review your work and discuss the cost with you. However, to give you an idea, fees typically range from .005 to .01 cent per word. If you’d like a better understanding of what editing entails, I can give you a sample edit on your first five pages for $25.

Can I buy some services but not others?

Of course! We are here to help you in any way we can! Please let us know what you need, and we’ll do our best to accommodate your specific needs.

I want a hardcover. Will you do that?

Absolutely! There are different options for hardcovers. Reach out, and we’ll talk about what is best for your project.

How do I reach you?

The best way to reach me is through the contact page. Drop me a note! I’d love to hear from you.
